Miami Dade College
Miami Dade College is one of the largest public colleges in the United States. At four of the Miami Dade campuses, students can take web design classes at the School of Entertainment and Design Technology.
Graphic Internet Technology Associate in Science
The web design program consists of classes and laboratories where students learn the skills necessary in multimedia and web design markets. Core classes that all web design students take include digital imaging, graphic imaging, Adobe Illustrator, introductory and intermediate web design classes, electric imaging and streaming media creation. Other classes available in the program include computer animation, typography, Adobe InDesign and graphic design.
The Central Campus location of Broward College is located in the Miami suburb of Davie. Broward College has nine locations in Broward County offering more than 100 degrees and certificates, including these in web development. Some required courses may be offered at various campus locations, while others may only be available at the Central Campus.
Associate of Science in Internet Services Technology
This 63-credit program trains students for careers in web development and design. Courses include scripting, animation, and e-commerce. Graduates will be prepared to sit for several industry certification license exams.
Web Development Specialist Technical Certificate
Students complete courses in programming, scripting, and web design, in this 36-credit certificate program. As with the associate's degree, graduates will be ready to take several different types of certification licensing exams.
William T. McFatter Technical College
The William T. McFatter Technical College is located in the Miami suburb of Davie. The center is one of the several technical centers governed by the Broward County Technical Centers. This school offers several information technology certificates, including one in web development.
Certificate in Web Development
This 10-month hybrid program covers web design skills like coding, programming languages and publishing. All potential students need to complete a Test of Adult Basic Skills (TABE) and interview with the web development counselor before enrolling in the program. The web development program consists of topics like mobile and table website formats, XHTML, SEO, CMS and WordPress.
