Palm Beach State College

Since opening its doors to only 41 students in 1933, Palm Beach State College has flourished, now serving 49,000 students at five locations. It offers certificates, degrees, workforce preparation, professional skills development and continuing education for the entire Palm Beach community.

Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificate in Welding

Graduates from this program are ready for entry-level jobs in the welding industry. The 1,050 hours of welding classes and shop experience include basic welding, various arc welding techniques and practical applications of welding. Palm Beach State College is a participant in the American Welding Society's Schools Excelling through National Skills Education (SENSE) program. The welding program is offered at the Belle Glade and Lake Worth campuses.

Eastern Florida State College

Eastern Florida State College, formerly called Brevard Community College, in Cocoa, FL, serves over 15,000 students a year on four campuses, offering career preparation, continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities to a diverse community. It maintains close ties with local institutions such as the King Center for the Performing Arts, the Kennedy Space Center and the University of Central Florida, and it was one of the first community colleges in the country to offer online degree programs.

Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificate in Welding

This welding technology certificate program gives students a solid foundation for a career in the welding trade. Topics covered in the required 1,050 hours of welding classes include fundamentals of metallurgy, oxygen/fuel gas processes, pipe welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten welding and gas metal arc welding. Instruction time is divided between academic study and hands-on lab work. Students are fully prepared by the end of the program for American Welding Society certification testing.
