Physical geography is the study of natural landforms and phenomena with a focus on their physical location and spatial dimensions. Afghanistan is an arid to semi-arid country in Central Asia with no natural water boundaries, meaning it is landlocked and each border is shared with another country. The country is divided into three general regions known as the Hindu Kush mountains, the Northern Plain, and the Southern Plateau.
